Maybe if her fireballs were able to be shot out continuously that would be enough for me to jump her up a tier. Artificer was my favorite character for a while after unlocking her. Artificer and Mul-T: Mul-T just feels bad and I’m hoping his new alts breathe some new life into him, right now he just feels like a worse commando to me. His abilities are effective they just feel meh to use. Caustic Leap I never feel I’m making the most use out of, enemies are hardly in it for too long and typically fast enough that a couple get out of the way of the initial slam. The other skills aren’t so much fun though. Acrid: slow to start and can’t turn 90 degrees without making a fuss about it. Still can be a fun pick for me if I make good use of the swinging mechanic. So most of the time I just throw out the M551 Pylon and then just punch and wait for the next punch. Trying to use the swing momentum to punch everything all the time is something I’m not the best with, though. Cutting through those first few stages while swinging through them is great. ![]() Loader was actually the only character I got the skin with before artifacts came out. Loader: I just need to get better with the grapple. He’s a solid great pick that can feel much better later in a run after gaining speed. Gameplay is pretty repetitive with using Tangling Growth a lot and spamming Seed Barrage until you need to heal with Bramble Volley. That and the fact that most of the time you’re hitting things in a specific green circle is what keeps him out of “A Tier” for me. His speed is slow to start runs and his skills that eat his health might make the first stage or 2 a bit riskier than they need to be. Rex: Very good character who would be in an A Tier based solely off survivability and not fun. Only reason he isn’t in “A Tier” is because I’m really only managing two cooldowns, the harpoons and spider mines, while turrets help me with half the work. He’s a lot more fun now because of those new abilities and I can actually get use out of his whole kit. Spider mines are so much better than his regular mines as well. His harpoons ability makes it so I don’t have to rely solely on turrets if RNG hasn’t blessed them. You can very easily get to the point where your turrets do most, if not all, of the work. Only because he CAN make a lot of runs total snooze-fests. ![]() Engineer: this character I considered putting lower. Didn’t realize I thought his roll was clunky until I got the slide. The slide also helps the commando in feeling more fluid in his movement. The shotgun ability is a game changer for commando. Commando: when I want the range but also the ability to hit enemies hard in melee distance, this is my pick. Mercenary and Huntress: close range and long range at their finest with dynamic kits that you feel skillful when using properly. I’d say the tier list for me is based pretty much just based off of fun factor. Hope you enjoy and bring in your own opinions. Looking back now I thought I’d list out who my favorite characters are. ![]() I recently 100% the game’s logbook on PS4 after finally getting that Ethereal challenge done.
